Litigation Secretary - California

Hours: Flexible schedule – 40 hour week

Salary: Based on experience

We are seeking a Litigation Secretary with a minimum of 3-6 years of litigation and trial-related experience. We are a 44-attorney firm, established in 1997, with a client base comprised primarily of public agencies and private developers. We offer a fast-paced, collegial environment and provide and encourage increasing levels of challenge and responsibility for all staff and attorneys. Candidate may elect between remote work or a choice of onsite locations in California – Century City, Pleasanton, or San Diego.

Job Description, including but not limited to:

Draft and proofread correspondence, memos, pleadings, and discovery
Perform e-filings for California State Court and Federal Court
Familiarity with local Superior Court rules and Federal Court rules
Able to provide document quality control
Finalizing pleadings, including generating table of authorities and electronically tabbed and searchable documents for filing and service.
Schedule hearings, depositions, conference rooms, and court reporters
Proactively manage multiple calendars with knowledge of calendaring rules assisted by specialized software, as well as set-up calendar events
Assist with all aspects of preparation for hearings and trials

Skills: Complete literacy of Microsoft Office and Adobe. Excellent communication skills. A strong multi-tasker, quick-learner and detail-oriented team player. Must have self-initiative skills. Paralegal/legal research a plus.

Software: The firm provides various types of litigation support software to assist all staff and attorneys.
