Job Summary
The San Fernando Valley InterCommunity Council, an award winning non-profit has a unique opportunity for an energetic individual on an accounting career track to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support daily accounting operations, primarily responsible for paying vendors in a timely and accurate manner in addition to performing a variety of routine and other accounting and clerical functions. This role requires strong clerical skills, accounting knowledge, proficiency in office software, good numerical skills and an understanding of basic accounting principles.

Duties

Detail oriented and the ability to proactively recognize and resolve issues
Excellent skills are essential (Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook) QuickBooks desired.
Great team player, always willing to learn and take on new challenges
Must possess a CAN DO attitude, ability to help out whenever needed.
Self-motivated, attitude is most important
A college degree preferred, or Accounting education and a High School diploma
Strong attention to detail, goal oriented
Knowledge of Accounts Receivable and bookkeeping procedures
Ability of proactively recognize and resolve billing issues
Strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills required
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
Enter and code invoices into the company's accounting system
Process employee expense reports, reimbursements and mileage
Maintain vendor files and documentation
Prepare month end journal entries
Work ethic, character and professional attitude are a must.

Minimum of 1 year or more in position in Accounting or Administrative Support or similar position or education in bookkeeping and accounting .

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
