The UPS Store is seeking a seasoned leader who desires the challenge of retail and the excitement of building new procedures from the ground up. The person needs to be hands-on in odd jobs associated with store and team management and with resolving technology and customer related issues. The Assistant Store manager's job functions will be both customer facing and back office administrative tasks. You will need to ensure effective implementation of brand culture and business initiatives. As Assistant Store Manager, you are accountable for driving sales, supporting the store team, managing inventory levels and merchandize pricing and achieving operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will have retail management experience, strong computer and internet skills, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, a professional appearance, and must be a fast learner who makes an effort to proactively learn all aspects of business operations, customer service and technology.
The person would have in-depth information on our array of products, services, and best-value options. And will be proactive, resourceful and solution oriented to enhance the existing continuous learning culture.

Responsibilities

- Valid notary public commission in the state of California
- The Assistant Store manager's job functions will be both customer facing and back office administrative tasks
- You will need to ensure effective implementation of brand culture and business initiatives
- As Assistant Store Manager, you are accountable for driving sales, supporting the store team, managing inventory levels and merchandize pricing and achieving operational excellence
- The person would have in-depth information on our array of products, services, and best-value options
- And will be proactive, resourceful and solution oriented to enhance the existing continuous learning culture
- Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with products and services
- Ensure all register functions are creating a WOW customer experience
- Operate cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately and improve store open & close procedures
- Maintain relationships with mailbox holders, regular clients, UPS drivers and look out for ways to bring new clientage into the store
- Keep a pulse on the local market to ensure marketing plans and the product assortment is in line with trends and demands in the marketplace
- Support with inventory management, organization of stockroom and weekly ordering of products from vendors
- Replenish the shop floor as and when necessary
- Daily monitoring of the teams KPI’s
- Upsell and cross sell products to existing and new customers
- Collaborate with Store Manager on recruiting, hiring and training for all positions
- Provide direction, feedback, and coaching in order to foster the UPS Culture, collaboration and productivity amongst the Store Team
- Uphold UPS’s Shipping and Packaging best practices in the store
- Effectively manage and coach any team member, on any task, in order to maintain successful operations of the store
- Hold regular one to one meetings with team members to manage and maintain performance
- Listen to customer's needs and provide best mailing and shipping solutions
- Assist with time and attendance management and payroll processing
- Operate all store service equipment, software and devices with expertise
- Uphold all company policies, standards, and procedures
- Notarize documents for customers (Notary license required)
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding sales goals, pricing/product concerns, inventory levels, operational setbacks and customer feedback
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor to enhance the shopping experience
