Job Description
The Manufacturing Maintenance Technicians will provide maintenance and performance support for large production machinery. Tasks will include but are not limited to preventive maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting and repair, and reporting. This position will oversee all physical aspects of the maintenance and upkeep of all Company assets and will include various tasks required from other departments to achieve higher quality, productivity, and improved safety. Lead Maintenance Technician will be responsible for assigning work and/or giving directions and training to operations staff, contractors, or vendors.
Essential Functions
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment and process issues whether arising from electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic or PLC systems and provides corrective maintenance support.
- Plans and execute all schedules of preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, material handling equipment, tools, and buildings, etc. utilizing CMMS software.
- Maintains spare parts inventory to ensure proper stock levels.
- Oversee installation of new equipment and Continuous Improvement Projects List.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Documents and reports appropriate records of work performed.
- Trains and guides operators on operational inspections and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, maintenance, and quality of product.
- Become proficient within all areas of the production line .
- Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
- Complete repair work using machine schematics or equipment manuals as needed.
- Maintains service documentation of all company assets.
- Provides technical training to management and other team members, as directed.
- Prepare reports documenting work performed.
- Participates in maintenance meetings .
- Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
- Supports the development of internal SOP’s, as well manuals/guides for other departments on equipment.
- Thorough understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations as they pertain to plant operation and maintenance .
- Forklift Maintenance experience.

- Knowledge and experience of cardboard bailers, compactors, conveyor belts, food de packaging equipment such as hammer mills, screw conveyors and hoppers, tote washing lines.
- Knowledge and experience in general maintenance procedures, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, lubricating and mechanical installations.
- Knowledge and experience in the areas of VFDs, Motors/Wiring Configurations, PLCs, Computers, Electrical Schematics, Control Circuits, and Electrical Distribution Systems are a plus.
- Ability to Read and interpret equipment manuals and procedures to perform required maintenance and services.
- Ability to use hand or power tools and material handling equipment.
- Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
- 3+ years working in a manufacturing or waste recycling environment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors, or employees of this organization.
- Ability to read/write/speak Spanish a plus.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar 'graphs.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Weekend Availability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in a technical subject (engineering); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver’s license: other evidence of special qualification such as journeyman electrician or pipe fitter is desired.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fume or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Pay: $33.00 per hour

Experience:
- Programmable logic controllers: 3 years (Preferred)
- Manufacturing engineering: 3 years (Required)
