Position Summary
HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems to ensure optimal indoor air quality comfort, troubleshooting HVAC systems units.
Pay Rate ranges from : $35.00 to $38.00 per hour (DOE)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Installation: Install heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems based on building blueprints and specifications, install, repair and maintain duct work for HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning).
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, adjusting, and repairing HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation, checks chiller water pressure, motors, bearings & compressors, checks all A/C units control boards, filters, condenser boards and motor blades.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC systems.
- Repairs: Replace or repair faulty components such as compressors, motors, and belts, performs emergency repairs while ensuring compliance with safety standards, use of vacuum pump equipment to remove air and moisture.
- Inspects: Checks and service humidifiers in Dip Room Department-Control Boards, Ionic Beds, tanks, heating elements, and checks for any leaks, checks refrigerant levels, add refrigerant as appropriate.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service calls, maintenance performed, and parts used. Perform A/C Daily Maintenance Schedule -Check Chiller Water Pressure, motors, bearings, & compressors. Check A/C units Control Boards, motors, bearings, Compressors, filters, condensers, condenser fan, motor blades

Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and local HVAC codes.

Performs other duties and responsibilities within the HVAC functions
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

High School Diploma or equivalent

Completion of an HVAC training program or apprenticeship

4-5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.

Valid driver’s lice

Advanced understanding of HVAC systems, including boilers, furnaces, and air conditioners.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and work plans

Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication and customer service abilities.

HVAC Technicians role may require working in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions. Safety is vital, and adherence to industry standards and regulations is essential, working in loud noise areas of production, the job requires employee to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use both arms and hands to reach. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. noise level is usually moderate to intense.
