We are currently looking for a Grinder Operator who is responsible for setting up and operating grinding machines to shape, sharpen, and polish metal parts. You must be able to set up the grinding machines and adjust the cutting tools to achieve desired results. Grinder Operators must also be knowledgeable in the safe use of the grinding machines and must possess a good understanding of the principles of grinding, such as angles, speed, pressure, and feed rate. They must also be able to record and maintain accurate production records and ensure that the machines are kept in good working order.
Our Grinder Operator will use grinding machines to produce finished parts and components from raw materials. This will involve setting up and operating the machines, ensuring that all safety protocols are observed, and inspecting the parts for accuracy. Having the ability to be responsible for maintaining the machines and performing basic repairs as required is a plus. This role is for our first or second shift.
Compensation:$21 - $24 hourly
Responsibilities:Under moderate supervision, you will be responsible for the following:
- Operate electric and air grinding equipment to shape various surfaces
- Operates drill press, hand drill, hand saw, and other tools to assist other operations
- Check grinding equipment for safe operation
- Set up, operate, and maintain grinding machines
- Select grinding wheels and other related tools
- Use grinding equipment to round corners, tighten edges, and smooth surfaces for cabinet doors, walls, frames, and small parts
- Assist in performing sheet metal fabrication work
- Operates drill press to ream tubes, hand drills to ream door handles, and makes holes in sheet metal
- Perform quality control checks on products
- Ensure that safety regulations are adhered to
- Clean and maintains work area

- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1-3 years of related experience
- Must be authorized to work in the US
