Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Accounting Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Accounting department to maintain accurate financial records and ensure the company’s compliance with all legal requirements. Your responsibilities will include assisting with payroll processing, recording and verifying monthly accounting transactions, bringing the books to the trial balance stage, some minor invoicing and follow up for unpaid invoices. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has a strong understanding of best practices in accounting.

Responsibilities

Assist with preparation, reconciliation & review of bookkeeping for multiple clients
Assist with Annual City Business tax filings
Assist with payroll processing in QuickBooks desktop & QuickBooks online
Assist with the processing of W-2s, W-3s, 1099s, Quarterly payroll tax returns with IRS & State
Provide tax support to CPAs as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
QuickBooks payroll experience
Previous experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or similar position
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to work independently and be self-driven
Detail oriented and able to multitask
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
QuickBooks Desktop & QuickBooks Online experience is a MUST
