Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker III to join our team. Working alongside the Sheet Metal Lead, you will be responsible for setting up and operating machine tools, as well as fitting and assembling metal parts for repair or fabrication. This role requires a strong ability to interpret blueprints and sketches, determine dimensions and tolerances, and plan operations using various machines, including shear, break, punch, notcher, and plasma punch.
Key Responsibilities:
Read work plans and specifications to lay out, measure, and mark sheet metal accurately.
Operate a variety of equipment, including plasma arc cutting machines, computerized machinery, hand and power tools, and light metalworking machines.
Utilize all machines within the department to cut, bend, punch, and shape metal components.
Fit, join, and fasten sheet metal parts to construct final products or installation pieces.
Ensure finished products meet all quality, safety, and industry standards.
Perform maintenance and repairs on sheet metal work as needed.
Accurately scan job orders through the Made2Manage (M2M) system.
Additional Responsibilities:
Create Quality Discrepancy Reports (QDR) when necessary.
Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to the Senior Lead.
Complete other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Minimum five years of experience as a Sheet Metal Worker II, or completion of a two-year apprenticeship program, OR a combination of five years of trade experience with some college or industry coursework.
Strong ability to read and use a tape measure.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines consistently.
