Job Summary:
The Tax Manager/Senior Manager will oversee all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting for the company. This role ensures adherence to federal, state, and local tax obligations while optimizing tax strategies and minimizing liabilities. The position requires collaboration with internal teams and external auditors, providing guidance on complex tax issues and ensuring compliance with evolving tax regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the company’s tax compliance process, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Manage tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and optimize tax benefits.
- Prepare and review tax returns, including income, sales, property, and other taxes.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax-related documents and returns.
- Lead tax provision calculations and ensure proper financial reporting of tax liabilities.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate tax audits and ensure compliance.
- Stay updated on changing tax regulations and provide insights to senior leadership on tax implications and planning opportunities.
- Support cross-functional teams with tax-related analysis and advice on business transactions.
- Identify and implement tax process improvements to streamline operations and ensure accuracy.
- Lead and mentor tax professionals, providing guidance on technical tax issues and fostering development.
- Manage relationships with tax authorities and respond to tax notices or inquiries as needed.
- Provide support for transfer pricing, international tax, and other specialized tax projects as required.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in income, sales, property, and other taxes, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Experience at Big 4 companies is preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Experience with tax provision and compliance for multi-entity corporations.
- Proven ability to manage tax audits and resolve tax disputes with authorities.
- Proficiency in tax software and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities, with experience working with senior management.
- Knowledge of international tax and transfer pricing is a plus.
