Job Summary:
The Merchandise Procurement Lead manages locally procured categories at MINISO USA, including food, toys, and beauty, ensuring procurement strategies align with business goals. This role oversees supplier management, cost optimization, and procurement operations while collaborating with the Merchandise Manager, USA planning team, and MINISO headquarters licensing team to support global strategies.
Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy & Category Management
- Develop and execute local procurement strategies under the Merchandise Manager’s guidance, ensuring alignment with market demand and brand positioning.
- Optimize product assortment using market trends and sales data to improve SKU competitiveness and profitability.
- Collaborate with the USA planning team to align global procurement strategies with U.S. market needs.
- Monitor industry trends, competitors, and consumer preferences to drive product innovation and market share growth.
Supplier Management & Procurement Optimization
- Build and manage supplier networks to ensure supply chain stability and mitigate risks.
- Lead supplier selection, negotiations, and performance evaluations to enhance efficiency and partnerships.
- Secure exclusive distribution rights and competitive pricing to strengthen MINISO’s U.S. market position.
- Address supplier performance issues related to delivery, inventory, and quality.
Team Leadership & Cross-Department Collaboration
- Oversee daily procurement operations, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Guide team members in supplier management, negotiations, and market analysis.
- Work closely with merchandising, marketing, operations, and stores to support procurement strategies.
- Report procurement progress and provide data-driven insights for optimization.
Data & Performance Optimization
- Analyze sales, margins, and inventory turnover to improve procurement decisions.
- Implement category lifecycle management for profitability and market relevance.
- Establish supplier data-sharing for better forecasting and inventory management.
- Evaluate and improve procurement systems for efficiency.
Cost & Financial Optimization
- Reduce procurement costs through negotiations and strategic sourcing.
- Optimize inventory cycles to prevent overstocking or shortages.
- Improve cash flow management through better payment terms.
Brand Licensing & Marketing Support
- Align local brand-licensed product strategies with company growth goals.
- Secure supplier marketing funds to support product promotions.
- Work with MINISO headquarters licensing team to ensure licensed product consistency.
Supply Chain & Store Support
- Manage end-to-end supply chain operations, including warehousing and logistics.
- Address supply chain challenges, including logistics delays and inventory issues.
- Collaborate with store teams to refine product selection and strategies based on customer feedback.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Marketing, International Business, Retail Management, or related field preferred.
- 8+ years of procurement management experience in large-scale retail companies preferred.
- Experience in cross-category procurement (e.g., food, toys, beauty).
- Strong supplier management, negotiation, and cost control skills.
- Ability to collaborate with international suppliers and teams.
- Leadership skills to mentor and develop procurement teams.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and data analysis for procurement optimization.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong problem-solving skills.
- Must maintain communication with MINISO HQ licensing and USA planning teams.
- Travel required for supplier visits, market research, and trade shows.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $87,000.00 - $107,346.00 per year
