Volt is immediately hiring for a
Press Operator in Azusa, CA.
As a
Press Operator you will:
- Heat and shape metal using industrial press equipment, forging tools, and traditional blacksmithing techniques.
- Operate presses, hammers, anvils, and other metal shaping tools.
- Join metal parts through welding, riveting, or other fabrication methods.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical designs to fabricate custom metal parts.
- Maintain blacksmithing tools and equipment.
- Sharpen and repair tools and metal components as needed.
- Manage inventory of metal stock and supplies.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Work both independently and with other craftspeople to complete projects.
This is a full-time Temp-to-Hire opportunity. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1st shift (6:00am – 2:30pm); overtime may be required
The ideal candidate will have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in metalworking, forging, or blacksmithing.
- Proficiency with press operation, metal shaping, and heat-treating techniques.
- The ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Strong understanding of metal properties and their behavior during forming.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Physical strength and stamina to lift and manipulate heavy metal parts.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety procedures.
Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
