Job Description:
Work Location: Doheny Campus (Downtown Los Angeles) and Chalon Campus (West Los Angeles). Remote work available 1-2 days per week.
Start Date: Immediately

Position Hourly Rate Range: $21.10 - $24.76
Hiring salary can be above the posted pay range if candidate's qualifications are determined to be above the minimum requirements of the position description.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processes employee payroll on a monthly or bi-weekly basis using ADP Workforce Now system as assigned.

Runs payroll reports prior to transmitting payroll and review for accuracy and approvals.

Posts payroll procedures (e.g., live check listing; bank reconciliation, payroll distribution reports, and other reports as needed).

Monitors and maintains departmental student and payroll email inbox

Timely and accurate preparation of the University's Retirement contribution reports to third party vendor.

Sends reminders and follow up emails to University community on timely timesheet submissions and approvals

Responds to oral and written requests for verification of employment and other payroll related inquiries.

Troubleshoot and/or investigate issues that arise related to employee payroll.

Works closely with HR and Accounting departments as needed.

Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

Performs all job duties with a "remarkable service" orientated attitude.

Understands and upholds the University's personnel and payroll policies as indicated by the Staff Handbook.

Requirements:
Knowledge:
- Solid working knowledge of basic mathematic and algebraic functions.

Familiarity with basic accounting principles.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications with emphasis on Excel.
Abilities and Skills:
- Ability to calculate and process information quickly and accurately.

Effectively organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks to meet recurring deadlines.

Basic accounting skills desired. Operate a calculator with speed and accuracy.
Education:
- High-school diploma required. Associate of Arts or Bachelor's degree desirable, preferably in an Accounting, Finance or other business-related field.
Experience:
- One to two years of payroll experience. ADP Workforce experience and business background preferred.
