Job Summary:
Fabricate metal parts using a variety of sheets of metal, installation of sheet metal parts with screws, adhesive, or other general fastening methods. Proficiency in all areas of welding procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Be familiar with the operation of hydraulic shears, press breaks, and punches
- Read and interpret shop orders thoroughly
- Must read blueprints and perform shop math to layout, fabricate, and weld various parts and assemblies
- Must be able to deburr parts as instructed by Department Lead
- Cut material in (sheer cutter), sand or polish belts, assemble bumpers/parts
- Must be able to drive forklift to move material
- Stay current in TPM and basic mechanical adjustment on all equipment as needed
- Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled
- Meet all QA and QC standards for each task
- Meet standards of safety and 5S
- Be compliant with the rules of conduct and attendance per company policy
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment):
- One (0-1) years sheet metal/body fabricating/Welding or acceptable training
- Two (1-3 ) years prior fabrication/welding experience
- Three (3+) years prior fabrication/welding experience
- Ability to assemble customer prototype metal components
- Ability to use a grinder, sander, rivet guns, saws, and other air tools
- Ability to read, write comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
- Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices
- Ability to recognize the quality expected and be able to reproduce it

- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40#'s
- The employee is regularly required to stand or walk; use hands to finger; handle or feel objects; and reach with hand and arms.
- The employee is required to be squatting, kneeling or bending position
- Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding
- Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools and machinery
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Ability to work with arms above head.
Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. Employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particle and vibration.
