Job Summary
The Sales Floor Associate performs multiple tasks and processes associated with the thrift operations at RWB Thrift. This role demands attention to detail, physical endurance, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Sales Floor Associates may be assigned to different areas within the organization. Below are brief descriptions of each role:
Cashier: A cashier plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of a business. They are responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently. This includes handling cash, counting back change, and providing customers with receipts. Cashiers must provide excellent customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for the customer. Additionally, cashiers need to maintain a clean and organized work area, reconcile their cash drawer at the end of their shift, and assist with tasks like stocking shelves or bagging items when needed. Attention to detail, good communication skills, and a friendly demeanor are essential qualities for a successful cashier.
Sales Floor: Sales Floor Associates take pride in maintaining the sales floor amidst the ever-changing inventory and keep the store clean and organized to enhance the shopping experience. Key duties include organizing clothing racks, promptly picking up items from the floor to maintain an orderly sales area, and returning products to their designated locations. Associates are also responsible for promptly addressing spills, removing potential safety hazards, and occasionally assisting customers with items behind the register area.
Donation Attendant: Donation Attendants provide a positive experience for donors and customers. They greet donors, receive and process donations, thank donors for their contribution, and provide information about the store’s donation policies. They also provide donors with a receipt.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous thrift, retail, warehouse, or customer facing experience is preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to Safely Perform Job Functions: Capable of safely and effectively performing essential job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting both qualitative and quantitative productivity requirements.
- Physical Strength: Must have the ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs, frequently exert up to 25 lbs. of force, and constantly apply negligible force when handling objects.
- Endurance: Able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Manual Dexterity: Proficient in performing repetitive motions such as extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction and working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm.
- Fine Motor Skills: Skilled in tasks involving seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands.
- Balance and Agility: Capable of maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces, as well as maintaining balance when performing agile tasks.
- Visual Acuity: Possesses clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more.
- Footwear: Required to wear closed-toe shoes for safety purposes.
- Repetitive Tasks: The job involves regular repetitive motions.

- Employees are not required to communicate exclusively in English within the workplace. Scheduling Requirements
- Sales Floor Associates are typically scheduled to work from 10am - 6:30pm. They receive two days off; Sunday + one other day of the week. Days off are typically not consecutive.
