We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC/R Service Manager to lead our team of skilled technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC/R systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Commercial HVAC/R, with the ability to work in the field, complete bids, professionally represent the company, and ensure compliance with safety standards. This role requires excellent leadership skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
- Review project plans and specifications to determine necessary materials and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project timelines.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless execution of tasks.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Provide training and support to team members on HVAC/R systems and best practices.
- Operate as an example for all staff by complying with company policies and procedures.
- Elevate technician skill level and foster positive employee morale.
- Communicate with field staff daily and track progress.
- Troubleshoot complex HVAC/R issues and provide effective solutions.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle.
- Conduct random inspections of work sites to ensure quality control.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an HVAC/R Supervisor or similar role in the industry.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete same-day repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
- Ability to read and understand documents such as safety and operating procedures/manuals.
- Proficiency in safety regulations and industry standards related to HVAC/R systems.
- Ability to generate new sales is a plus; with bonus incentives.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Ability to operate a company vehicle for field service tasks.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain, commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including A/C units, ventilation, exhaust, make-up air, evaporator coils, compressors, electrical control systems, thermostatic expansion valves, and related controls, liquid chillers, ice machines, walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-in coolers and freezers.
- Ability to perform maintenance on customer equipment.
- Ability to complete necessary photos and paperwork when required, including equipment lists, work performance sheets, and/or tasking forms.
- Effective oral and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to provide clear directions and respond to emails in a timely manner.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with all levels of management and support staff.
- Conflict management skills required.
- Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.
- Valid driver's license required.
Working Conditions:
- Driving to work and customer sites is required. Clean driving record is required.
- Climbing ladders to access building rooftop.
- Working in small spaces.
- Lifting 50 lbs.
- Workdays may require odd hours and emergency repairs on occasion.
