Adams & Martin Group has partnered with a reputable law firm in Downtown Los Angeles, California to find an experienced Paralegal/Litigation Assistant to join their team. This role is crucial for supporting attorneys and ensuring smooth legal operations within the firm.
Paralegal/Litigation Assistant Responsibilities:
- Organize and prepare documents for trials, hearings, and depositions.
- Assist with document reviews, document productions, and database searches.
- Gather information for case intake and update clients on case matters.
- Schedule and set up conferences, meetings, hearings, and court reporters.
- Manage calendar for attorneys.
- Communicate with court personnel to schedule appointments.
- Create PowerPoint presentations and other demonstrative aids.
- Prepare discovery shells, transmittal letters, proof and cite check documents.
- Assemble declarations and exhibits.
- File and e-file at the state and federal level.
- Run and generate table of contents (TOC) and table of authorities (TOAs).
- Utilize Adobe for bates stamping, redacting, and bookmarking.
Paralegal/Litigation Assistant Requirements:
- 5+ years of defense litigation experience required.
- Bachelor's Degree OR Paralegal Certificate strongly preferred.
- Compulaw experience strongly preferred (for calendaring).
- Knowledge of Westlaw, PACER, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Office, DISCO, Relativity (or other e-discovery platforms) strongly preferred.
Work Hours:
Monday through Friday, 1st shift.
