Job Summary
Essence Health and Urogynecology seeks a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be Armenian-speaking, though this is not required. You must have a desire to work with diverse patients in a hybrid boutique/hospital-based setting. Shifts include 1-hour lunch.
Duties
- Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients using electronic health records (Optimantra)
- Review patient medical records to verify diagnoses and procedures for proper coding.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status, denials, and appeals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and coding practices.
- Handle medical collections by following up on outstanding accounts and resolving discrepancies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation of services rendered.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to medical billing.
Experience
- Recent graduates welcome to apply, though experience in medical billing or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical office operations and procedures.
- Strong understanding of medical coding systems, including ICD-10.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations is essential.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work with a team.
- Dependable to work independently if remote/hybrid option preferred
