Job Title: Accounting Clerk

Reports To: Finance Manager
SUMMARY:
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for maintaining bank records for the Hotel and providing clerical assistance to the Accounting Department. The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the task that may be assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintains accounting departments files and records

Enters information into M3 accounting system

Verifies and prepares checks for mailing

Researched problem invoices; interfaces with vendors, customer service team, and other appropriate staff to reconcile

Assists with month-end and runs monthly reports as required

Prepares and posts deposits, balance deposits on bank statements

Prepare invoices, checks, and other records and reviews for accuracy

Sorts and distributes internal and external mail

Performs general clerical duties including but limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, typing and mailing.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to three year’s related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point; type 55-60 wpm, 10 key by touch, and strong analytics experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write communicate for presentations regarding the hotel and services available
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamental of math. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentage, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusion. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
