About the Position:
We are a solo immigration law practice in Los Angeles, CA, seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Immigration Legal Assistant to join our team part-time. The firm handles a mix of family-based and employment-based petitions for both immigrants and nonimmigrants, as well as some EOIR (immigration court) filings.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in immigration law while working in a supportive, professional, and steady-paced environment. You’ll work directly with the attorney, who is committed to mentoring and providing clear guidance on case matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file immigration petitions and applications (I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131, I-140, H-1B, TN, E-1, E-2, L-1, Labor Certification, etc.)
- Assist with EOIR filings including motions, applications, and hearing prep
- Organize and maintain physical and digital client files
- Draft cover letters, declarations, and exhibit lists
- Communicate with clients regarding case status and required documents
- Calendar deadlines and ensure timely filings
- Computer literate
Requirements:
- At least 1–2 years of experience in immigration law (family, employment-based (PERM), and EOIR)
- Familiarity with USCIS, NVC, and EOIR procedures and filings
- Excellent writing and organizational skills
- Professional communication and client service approach
- Ability to work independently with support from the attorney
- Spanish fluency is a plus, but not required
