Raging Waters Los Angeles - Retail Senior Supervisor
Roles & Responsibilities:
The Retail Senior Supervisor is responsible for managing operations of one or more retail locations including training, accountability, visual merchandising, inventory controls, cashier duties and quality controls.
Also assists with ancillary revenue activities related to rentals and food and beverage, as needed.
Seasonal Position: Retail Senior Supervisor
The pay rate for this position is $22/hour
Tentative start date: February 2025
Supervisory Duties:
Supervise the daily operations of the Retail and Rentals team and any other assigned departments
Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Raging Waters Los Angeles core values
Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members
Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all retail and rentals positions and backfill these positions when needed
Participate in all aspects of supervision of assigned employees, including hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline.
Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with California law
Ensure daily sign-in sheets are completed and submitted each day
Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities
Departmental Duties:
Welcome and greet all guests as they enter retail locations
Conduct opening and closing procedures of assigned unit(s) including food preparation and cleanup.
Manage inventory levels by completing daily stocking of all gift shops, checking orders, and moving inventory between shops
Ensure a variety of items are available for guests to purchase and that store shelves are fully stocked
Proactively communicate inventory needs to leadership before items are sold out
Collaborate with Retail Manager to merchandise stores and improve product sales
Ensure employees are adhering to departmental and company policies (theft of merchandise/counterfeit training/etc.)
Monitor cashier activities to ensure continuous accuracy and compliance with POS procedures.
Ensure merchandise is well stocked and organized
Maximize unit visual merchandising standards.
Maintain cleanliness of store areas including exteriors.
Manage inventory, focusing on stock par levels, shrink and waste controls.
Oversee ancillary duties related to lockers, speedy pass and water park rentals.
Be on alert for possible theft
Report maintenance or safety concerns to a supervisor or manager in a timely manner
All other duties as assigned by leadership
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma desired; Equivalent work experience will be considered
2-3 years of previous retail or point of sale work experience
1+ years of previous supervisor experience leading a team of employees
Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with California Child Labor Laws
Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to work flexible hours that extend beyond 9am to 5pm
Ability to comply with all uniform policies
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Ability to operate various motorized vehicles, including trucks, golf carts, forklifts, etc.
Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
Ability to positively engage with guests to promote sales and customer satisfaction
Must be able to speak with guests directly when other retail leadership is not present
Ability to handle high-pressure situations, meet the demands of constant deadlines and coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Must possess strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) technology and PCI compliance a plus
Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday
Ability to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders
Ability to use a step ladder in a safe and proper manner
Ability to remain sedentary for periods of time, while using a computer or POS equipment
Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or more
Working Conditions:
This role will be based in one or more retail locations throughout Raging Waters Los Angeles, with exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments
Subject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activities
Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, ice, and other weather conditions
Some exposure to dust and chemical cleaning agents
