Position Objective: Responsible for the maintenance of YouBar’s facilities. The purpose of this position is to ensure that the physical condition of the properties and equipment satisfy YouBar’s production objectives.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the general maintenance of the production area, equipment, building, common areas and grounds of the facility.
- Replacement of electrical components, variable frequency drives (VFDs), transformers, motors, wiring, bearings, shafts, belting, bushings, and manufacture parts.
- Maintenance of a manufacturing facility, compressors, boilers, and lighting.
- Documents all repairs made during shift in the work order system. Ensures all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s.
- Demonstrates full knowledge of and compliance with Company Quality and Good Manufacturing Practices, policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain production line and facility equipment.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance routines on all equipment in the manufacturing facility in a timely manner.
- Assist in the design and installation of new equipment or layouts.
- Assist in other areas of plant maintenance as needed.
- Responsible for the care and maintenance of all property and production assets including the assembly/disassembly of equipment utilizing best safe and sanitary practices.
- Complete work orders in a timely manner maintaining high quality standards.
- Utilizing a continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
- Readily available for emergency repairs in breakdown situations.
- Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, mechanical/electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Follow all required safe work practices. This would include lockout-tagout requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
- Maintain a clean, safe and sanitary work area. Inspects, repairs and performs overhauls on mechanical drives/motors, pneumatic & hydraulic components, motor control center devices, transport conveyor systems and rotating, cutting, & grinding equipment.
- Troubleshoots and repairs motor control centers, electro-mechanical drives and sub-electrical panels utilizing volt and amp meters.
- Performs machine shop duties such as general metal fabrication and machining.
- Responsible for prioritizing repair and maintenance tasks to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted workflow for the manufacturing plant.
- Responsible for compliance with all local, State and Federal laws as they relate to the maintenance of the plant and equipment.

Job Qualifications/Skills:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
- 1 year or more in manufacturing maintenance or job related experience
- Knowledge of the principles of electronic, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic/vacuum systems and components found in industrial equipment
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards, safety precautions and inspection techniques of repairing and operating equipment in the industrial industry
- Skill in the use of tools, machines and testing instruments used in the repair and overhaul of plant equipment and building services
- Skill in the use and care of welding equipment and tools is a plus
- Ability to use knowledge, creativity and initiative in recommending or implementing improvements in servicing methods, tools and equipment.
- Ability to use manuals, blueprints and schematics in servicing equipment.
- Must be fast-paced and work with a sense of urgency
- Must have great attention to detail
- Must have good communication & team-work skills
- Must have good organization and time management skills
- Must have an excellent record in the areas of safety, attendance, performance and discipline.
- Must be willing to work overtime and/or weekends as required
- Knowledge of RedZone preferred
- Standing: Up to 100% of time
- Lifting: 4lbs to 50lbs frequently
- Sight: Able to operate high-speed equipment run and identify problems
- Good peripheral vision to catch problems in other areas of the line when they have trouble
- Ability to work in an environment with exposure to shellfish, crustaceans, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, milk, eggs, whey, sesame without incident
