Job Summary:
We highly prefer candidates with prior experience in the manufacturing industry. This role starts on the 1st shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) for approximately 30 days, then transitions to the 2nd shift (1:30 PM - 10:00 PM). You will receive panel saw training as part of your onboarding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate various fabrication equipment in accordance with instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
- Secure workpieces using clamps, wrenches, or other appropriate devices in the proper machine table or surface.
- Load, operate, and manufacture parts using CNC machining centers to produce custom parts based on customer orders, work orders, and blueprints.
- Recognize tooling and procedures to ensure products are within established tolerances.
- Complete work order documentation accurately.
- Inspect finished parts for conformance to customer specifications.
- Perform packaging and counting tasks as required.
- Participate in cross-training to develop proficiency across different equipment and processes in the department.
- Perform daily machine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Provide guidance, feedback, and positive behavior modeling according to The Gund Company’s culture of care.
- Ensure tools are in safe, undamaged condition and follow all safety protocols and quality standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to follow written instructions and read blueprint specifications (or equivalent).
- Work independently with minimal defects and meet production goals.
- Communicate work order priorities with the supervisor.
- Adapt to changes due to emergency orders or special fabrication requests.
- Basic to intermediate math skills and the ability to use measuring instruments.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
