BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsibilities include meeting customer service expectations while performing and assisting in the day to day business operations of The UPS Store.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) High school diploma or equivalent; prefer one or more years of experience in a retail environment.
(2) Ability to lift 30 lbs and package customer items.
(3) Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
(4) Minimum typing speed 35 wpm.
(5) Computer proficient with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
(6) Manual hand dexterity required to operate POS, copiers and complete customer paperwork.
(7) Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain good relationships with customers and coworkers.
(8) Must have the ability to offer “World Class Customer Service” to all clientele.
(9) Must be able to work and deal effectively with people.
(10) Must possess good judgment, initiative, good job attitude and be dependable.
(11) Must possess excellent organizational abilities.
(12) Ability to work under pressure is essential.
(13) If not a commissioned California notary public in good standing, applicant must qualify to become a notary public as a job requirement.
(14) Excellent communication skills.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

(1) Accurately perform store opening and closing routines.
(2) Must be able to handle multiple customers and multiple transactions at the same time.
(3) Ensure compliance with all The UPS Store policies, procedures and practices for daily operations.
(4) Maintain and improve center imaging, impact zones and display areas.
(5) Accurately process all US Postal Service and UPS letters, parcels and packages
(6) Accurately process Corporate Accounts, Apple, AT&T, Amazon, and others
(7) Be able to box and package items using bubble wrap, corrugated boxes, packaging tape, and other packing items.
(8) Operate a cash register, fax machine, copy machine and laminating machine.
(9) Assist in the management of day to day operations and perform daily support tasks.
a) Understand and manage the mailbox customers, distribution of mail, mail forwarding, the recording and billing of house accounts, inventory management (stocking, ordering, counts, etc), properly create, maintain and file all records and paperwork, ensure store is clean, etc.
b) Efficiently utilize computer systems in support of package processing, meter mail processing, faxing, incoming package management, communication, reporting and other business requirements.
c) Proactively handle customer complaints and resolve problems.
d) Any other daily operational duties as directed by the Store Manager, General Manager, or Store Owner.
e) Cash management procedures.
(10) Monitor sales trends; recommend products, services and marketing strategies as appropriate.
(11) General housekeeping duties.
(12) Perform other duties and tasks as designated by the Store Manager, General Manager, or Store Owner.

Pay: $17.28 - $19.00 per hour
