Position Summary

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. This entry-level position will focus primarily on payroll processing support and general accounting support. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to take on multiple responsibilities within the accounting department.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing (50-60%)

Assist in preparing and processing payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy in hours worked, overtime, deductions, and benefits
Provide backup for payroll accountant during absences
Review payroll processing files before submitting for approval by Sr Accounting Supervisor or Controller
Maintain and update employee payroll records, as needed
Support Payroll Accountant with payroll tasks

Accounts Payable (15-20%)

Supports Accounts Payable function

Business Office Support (15-20%)

Prepare and distribute welcome letters to new clients, partners, or employees as part of the business office operations.
Provide backup support across different accounting functions and float between tasks as necessary.
Provide administrative support including data entry and filing.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks efficiently.
